Gamay from vines up to sixty years old, from a number of parcels and terroirs around the village of Ville-sur-Jarnioux. This spent two weeks as whole bunches in concrete, before being pressed off to vats for a short élevage. From a cooler vintage, there is an appealing brightness to the cherry-toned fruit, as well as a surprising amount of depth and structure from the old vines and complex mix of soils. Easygoing and full of charm, when enjoyed alongside a nice piece of saucisson or a good hunk of cheese, it reminds us why we fell in love with Beaujolais in the first place.
