This cuvée for us is the most accessible in its youth of today. It’s on the lighter side of the moment at 12% abv but still carries a black fruit density. This is all dark cherry, a little liquorice and bite - yet so soft. From a hectare of seventy year old vines planted over sandy slopes in Emeringes.
Last year’s was a particularly warm, dry vintage in these parts, a story that is becoming all too common and one that threatens the very identity of the wines we love from this part of the world. The plus was that Julie was able to harvest plenty of ripe, healthy grapes and fill her cellar for the first time in many years.
